My main reference source for the breed information is Wikipedia
Slight adjustments have been made where necessary to some items to improve readability especially where older words
no longer in common usage have been used. Also I have adjusted punctuation to avoid the 'speckled hen' effect created
by using the " quotation marks in place of standard single quotes.
Also I have tried to avoid descriptions which rely too heavily on the US aspect of the various breeds. (Wikipedia seems to
use the US standards for much of it's information on many breeds.) As I cannot read other languages to clarify the blurred
areas I have steered away from 'breed standards' specifications. A good example would be the Briard - In France the word
Fauve is used to describe the lighter coloured dogs. Fauve can be translated as Tawney or Fawn - which would seem to
indicate that the lighter coloured briard should be a tawney darkish fawn colour which, in the UK and the US breeding
lines has come to include very light champagne almost white colours in their dogs.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you think there is an error on any of the pages, or you have information on any breed that you think would be of interest to others, maybe a little known fact about the breed.
Web page Backgrounds are supplied by email - 24-48 hours after receipt of order. Stock items same day except weekends and holidays.
