I have adjusted the photograph below to rippled water - as I felt that the stillness of the water with the strong reflection took the eye away from the subject of the picture, which in this instance is the sailor sitting on the pier.

     

Here is an example showing how the flood filter can by adding water to a picture, create a new picture.

     

Adding the water makes the hippo appear to be in more natural surroundings by hiding the road (the road gives away the fact that the picture was taken in a zoo), and the small bird just below the hippo's chin.

Now - Lets Get Started.

Step 1.
Open your PSP programme.
Open your picture file and press down the shift and D keys to duplicate your original. It is a good idea to always make a copy like this to work with.

Step 2.
Select the effects button on the top tool bar. Look towards the bottom where you will see Plug in Filters select this then find Flaming Pear and select Flood from the side menu. See illustration A.

Step 3.
Illustration B shows the Flood filter dialogue box. The top slide button named horizon will move the water level up or down. Once you have the level where you would like it then select the OK button on the bottom right. You will probably find the default settings works fine if you are using the sailor photo.

To create more ripples and movement in the water you will need to play with the other sliders. Experiment as much as possible - remember you can always undo anything you do not like by clicking on edit and then the undo option on the drop down menu if you do not like the results.

Thats it! your picture is now ready save and name.
